The Maine Coon is a breed that has great admirers all over the world thanks to their imposing appearance, but to this we can add that they have a sweet character in front of any person.
They are sociable cats with people and cats, and even dogs. They love to play and receive a good dose of cuddles. Their sweetness, calmness, laziness and affection characterise them. They give all their love to the people who take care of them and make them feel comfortable.
The coat is characterised by being short on the head and thicker on the body and tail. It is pleasant to the touch, which provides perfect protection against the weather. The powerful coat does not hinder any movement and does not generate knots if properly cared for.
The Maine Coon is a breed that usually lives for about 10-15 years. When they are kittens, their coat is shorter and less dense, but when they enter adolescence (from the age of one year) they begin to change and increase in size. They are not considered fully mature until they are 3-4 years old.
On average, males weigh 8kg to 12kg, and females 5kg to 7kg. Adult cats’ range in height from 25.4 to 40.6 cm and reach a length of up to 97 cm, including the tail, which can reach 36 cm and is long, tapering and densely furred, and has some similarity to that of a raccoon. Their trunk is solid with a lot of muscle, which they need to support their weight, and the chest is broad.
